Yakima LoadStops are an accessory for use with the Yakima round bars. They fit around the bars and are then held tight with the same plastic butterfly nuts used with other Yakima accessories. They can be adjusted to fit different size items by repositioning them on the bars. They seem best suited to items with straight sides such as boxes. Because they are adjustable, they could be used for items with a taper such as ladders or canoes. They have a rubber coating so items do not slip. The come in a mesh bag with a drawstring closure so you can keep them with you in the car. I recently used my LoadStops to carry a large bookcase on the roof of my car. The bookcase (secured with straps) and the LoadStops did not slip or shift during transit and were still secure when I arrived. I am glad I had them and I know they will come in handy the next time I pick up something at that Swedish furniture store. I recommend them highly.
