Yakima FatCat 6-Ski Rooftop Carrier Review

I owned the Yakima Big Powderhound racks before these and they created a bit of wind noise at speed. The Fatcat 6 has the same capacity and no noise!! They also look pretty cool on my vehicle.

Yakima FatCat 6 w/Locks Review

I bought this rack becuase I wanted to be able to fit EVERYTHING on my roof.4 boards, skis, mountaineering ski's which and snowboards at the same time... and snowboards with big bindings that require a raised racked option so they fit.This rack does it all.Easy to use, pretty easy to install, and no major issues.

I have had minor issues with locking and unlocking when I load the rack full, one time the locks jammed for several minutes before a buddy and I were able to unjam the lock with a little extra elbow grease (this was because we clamped the rack down too tight I think).Great Rack overall!

Yakima Fairing Review

Okay, this "fairing" looks cool on top of my Toyota Tacoma and it hides the roof rack.However, it does very little to cut down on wind noise.I was really surprised at how much noise it still allows.Instead of thumping the roof, the wind now whooshes loudly.If you don't have the music on, it takes some getting used to.Without the ski rack on top, it is easily stolen by unscrewing the bolts (although I don't know who would steal a 38" X 3.5" piece of plastic).It's amazing what we buy to make things look "cool".Thule also makes nice looking `fairings'.

Thule 835XT Hull-A-Port Rooftop Kayak Carrier Review

I am very pleased with this rack.the only thing I do not like is that to install the rack you have to hand tighten it to your roof rack.I would have thought they would have a quick release latch or something.I guess I'm just lazy.I reccoment this product!

Yakima Accessory Lock Housing Review

The Yakima SKS accessory lock housing does one thing and does it very well......it secures your accessories to your rack so that people cannot walk off with them.This is a very inexpensive way to secure your expensive rack hardware.

If ever there was a "must have", this is it.The locks themselves are necessary for peace of mind, and work easily. Although I think these should be included by Yakima when you buy an expensive bike or kayak rack, but that is another issue altogether.
