NICE STRAPS. HOWEREVER IT DID NOT COME WITH THE CLIPS TO HOOK ON THE TRUNK LID OF THE CAR.
I plan on keeping my rack on my car all biking season, so the rack lock was a must-have.Often when I've been on rides I've wanted to stop on the way home to pick up something, but didn't dare.This cable is long enough that I have my bike secured to the point of more trouble than it would be worth to try to get it off my rack!Perfect.
After dealing with trunk mount and roof mount bike racks for years I decided to try a hitch mount type.I am extremely happy with this rack.One person can assemble this easily by himself with the tools provided.The rack folds up with the release of a quick release pin and is quickly out of the way.
I had never used a hitch mounted bike rack, but bought the Hollywood HR400 on a recomendation from a friend.From taking it out of the box to having bikes on and ready to drive out of the driveway was less than an hour.The design makes the bikes stable, and easy to get on and off.The fold down arm gives good access to the back section of the vehicle, but watch out if you have 4 bikes on there, it tends to get heavy pushing it back into the driving position.If I had to, I'd buy the same product again!!
I was originally looking at a Thule rack when my wife up and ordered this one.Therefore, I could'nt help but be a bit skeptical as I opened the box.My skepticism, though, changed to enthusiasm as I inspected the rack's solid construction and ample rubber fasteners.
This product is straight forward easy to install as advertised.My roof rails are foolishly body colored rather thansomething more wear forgiving.The soft rubber mounts allow for tight installation and full removal with no marks left or paint abrasion.
I purchased this rack about 4 months ago. It arrived earlier than expected and it good condition. All of the parts necessary for installation were included. There were also a couple of extra screws as spares.
I needed a 5 bicycle rack that could handle all our family bikes, including our 3 children's (5, 7 and 10 yrs. old) for our yearly vacation. This one seemed to be pretty versatile, not requiring additional bars for most bikes.

I purchased two Thule 982 Bicycle Frame Adapters for Thule 964 Revolver 4-Bike Hitch Mount Rack from the Amazon retailer, Rack Attack. PROS: 1) Because of the numerous different bicycle frame configurations, it will quickly become apparent to the strap/hitch carrier user that mounting the bicycles level is difficult. Attaching the Thule 982 Bicycle Frame Adapter ends to the bike's handle bar and seat stems will make this procedure much easier.For this application, the product seems well designed. CONS: 1) One of adapters I received from the Amazon retailer had rusted bolts while still inside the packaging! However, shortly after being exposed to the ouside environment during use, all the lock bolts on both adaptors quickly rusted. At the stated MSRP, stainless steel hardware would have been the fair and better choice. 2) The rubberized coating on the metal ends of the adaptors will ultimately tear or wear down due to use, UVA exposure, etc.. As a result, the exposed metal ends of the adaptors could damage the bike's finish. Take care to protect the rubberized coating during use and storage. In conclusion, it is my opinion that the Thule 982 Frame Adaptor is both a well designed and needed accessory for the strap/hitch carrier user.
This bike rack mounted to my 2008 Accord which has a spoiler and fit great.Once strapped on it was very sturdy and felt like it was part of the car.The bike rack looks really amazing and is very stylish and functional.The problems I have with it are:

I bought the spare Joe last august and i've used it many times since and I can say i'm 90% satisfied considering that there are no other options but to get a roof rack and look as if you are racing in tour-de-france(which is silly for me if i'm going to bike 10 miles from my home).
This is a good quality lock as cable locks go (remember ALL cable locks are a minor deterrent).I bought it specifically to lock bikes to my Thule Hitching Post rack, and I selected the Thule so I could buy matching lock cylinders for this and my other Thule lock.However, this lock does not have a swappable cylinder, which neither Amazon nor the Thule website seem to tell you, so I'm glad I waited to buy a set.It could also be about a foot longer since it's kind of sold for use with Thule racks, and a little more length would be necessary to get it through two bike frames, all four wheels, and the loop on the Hitching Post.Still, it's worth the price if you're aware of the drawbacks.
We really liked that this rack locked to the car, and locked the bikes. However, the pivot lock that allows it to swing down so you can get into the back of the minivan/SUV broke, so it no longer swings down. We've only had it a year or so. Also, the main reason we bought this was to carry 4 bikes and then pull the tent trailer from that, and the design is all wrong. It's too long. We tried to pull our light tent trailer, and unless you're a monster truck (we've got a minivan), the safety chains don't have enough slack and got ripped off when driving--there's not enough arch available under the car for the chain, due to the length of the chain needed... (maybe if they had welded loops for the safety chain to the end of the extended hitch [if that's legal])...
Buy the Roadway, it's the exact same rack sans the hitchlock, No Sway Cages, and the built-in securty lock.These extras are not worth the money so buy the basic rack. Here's the deal:
This bike rack is finished very nicely with very few exposed nuts and bolts.It comes with anti-sway supports that fold down and attach to the vertical seat post tube on your bike and keep the bike from rocking back and forth while traveling.
I bought this for my 2009 Jeep Wrangler and with the standard size spare tire on the trunk can only be opened about 6 inches because the thing doesn't drop low enough, but aside from that the thing's great, very sturdy and seems like it will hold up all right.
This rack installs in minutes. You can rack a bike in about 10 seconds.The only downside I can see is that they are easy to steal so i use a cable lock to tie them in to the truck.I bought two for my tundra.
This rack is almost perfect.It was extremely easy to mount onto my sedan.I use it almost every day, and very few adjustments are needed on a daily basis.My bike looks and feels very secure, even on the highway.All this, and it was one of the cheaper options out there!I highly recommend it.
At our children's urging we recently purchased bicycles for ourselves so that we could take family rides together. Since we are not experienced cyclists, perhaps I am not the best judge of a bike rack; in fact, this is the first bike rack I have ever owned and perhaps that makes me a mite too critical.
Google the reviews of this rack and be impressed.No worries about corrosion or rust.Very stable.I got the 3 bike rack even though I have 2 bikes just to make sure I had enough room between the bikes.Easy to install, but one caveat - make sure you do NOT tighten the locking knobs for each leg too tightly or you will strip them and they will be a little loose - not a huge problem, but for peace of mind you want them snug and not loose.
Easily used adjustment on women's bicycles to be carried on the Hollywood bicycle hitch rack.We carry 1 man's bike and 3 women's bikes on our car rack and these boomer bars are well made and easy to put on and take off.
I drive a Honda Element and had been putting my bike in my vehicle for 2+ years.It can be a little labor intensive and can take an 15+ minutes of my day taking out my kid's car seats, folding up the rear seats, taking off the bike's front wheel (and then putting everything back again before the family can go out again).I finally talked my wife into letting me get a hitch mount rack and I'm glad I bought the DoubleDown.I almost made the mistake of buying "cheaper" and I'm glad I didn't; this thing is a well made cycling tool.I've kept the rack on for a few weeks now - it tilts out more than enough for me to open the back of my Element.Now, I have my bike with me 5 or 6 days a week for rides instead of just 2 or 3 times a week.
It seems to me a very good choice, Hard, good paint.
Have had my rack 6 months. It is reasonably well made and sturdy.Bikes go on easily. The rubber frame holders work well with my hardtail bikes.A couple of bungees or the included strap should keep your bikes from swinging; you don't need the struts or fancy clamps.

I got this for my husband's beach cruiser and it was so easy to attach on to our Honda Civic's trunk and load his bike on, it took maybe 3 minutes total. I looked at several different mount racks but this was both durable and reasonably priced. I haven't tried putting my (women's) beach cruiser on it yet, so I'm not sure how that is going to do, but so far I have no complaints. It goes on our car easily and I have no worries about it slipping off. The first time I used it I had a person from the bike shop I purchased my husband's bike at install it for me and he put the bike on and tied the straps onto the wheels so they wouldn't spin or turn while driving. He said the ties were really for extra security and even the force of freeway wind wouldn't be enough to pull our bikes off of the rack because of the weight of the bike and the slant of the rack, and sure enough nothing budged during my ride home on the freeway. I highly recommend!
I've used this bike rack for over 10,000 miles across the U.S., on two sedans and one SUV.It's always been secure and rock solid (tried only one bike) at every speed I've driven, ranging from highways to gravel roads in all weather.It is an effective bike carrier and I do recommend it.There are some minor pitfalls though.
We had a tough time finding a bumper mounted bike rack for 4 bikes that would be shipped to an FPO address.After reading tons of reviews on other bikes we went with this one even though it was a bit more expensive.It was worth every penny.It arrived promptly...given that it had to go to Japan.It was easy to mount on our vehicle.It is incredibly sturdy and holds up to 150 pounds...more than enough for our bikes.I also like that I can still open the back hatch on the car while the rack is one there....I just need to retighten the straps.An excellent purchase worth every penny.
This bike rack gets it done. I strapped it onto the back of a minivan for a winter cross country drive, and it worked GREAT! It was simple to attach to the back of the van, and was very secure throughout the trip.
